Zorah Heritage wines are a celebration of the living history of Armenian viticulture diversity and an exploration of its long forgotten heirloom grapes. Our goal is to reach deep into the past and salvage rare, native varieties from extinction. Crafted in traditional Armenian amphorae and reminiscent bygone winemaking practices this wine is a blend of Styrene, a red from Artsah, and Ararati, a white from Vayots Dzor.

The wine is made from local grape varieties Sireni (Artsakh) and Ararati (Vayots Dzor). The fermentation and aging of wine are carried out in the traditional clay amphoras (Karases). The wines is aged for 24 months in karases, afterwards, 10-12 months in bottle.

The wine has a deep ruby color. Rich aroma with notes of ripe cherries, blackberries, mountain flowers and spices. The wine is full-bodied, It is velvety on the palate, with notes of ripe cherries, black berries, and vanilla and chocolate from aging in barrel.

Noravank, Maran Winery’s firstborn, is named after a 13th-century monastery next to our vineyards in Vayots Dzor region. The first vintage was released in a newly independent Armenia in 1991. These wines are generally more easily drinkable and have no oak ageing.
The wine is produced from 3 grape varieties: Khatun Kharji, Kangun, Aligote. The vineyards are located in Armavir and Vayoc Dzor regions.

Mode of production: about half of the ridges are separated from the grapes, and the production of partially raisin berries is crushed in a gentle manner. Fermentation lasts 4-5 months, proceeds in three stages: first on wild yeast, then on ordinary and finally on special alcohol-resistant races. Aging in oak for 3 years, aging in a bottle for 3 years.
