"Dulce de leche", also known as "milk jam", is a typical South American cream made from milk and sugar. According to legend, it was created by mistake in Argentina, in the 19th century, when a cook left a pot of milk and sugar on the stove. Toffee and British sweets are made from the same ingredients, with different proportions and different cooking times. Both Dulce de leche and toffee are characterized by their typical aroma, softness and creaminess.
